The Key Laboratory of Crime Scene Evidence, Shanghai Public Security Bureau (SPSB) and Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SITP, CAS) signed a cooperative agreement on May 11, 2011.

SPSB would take advantage of SITP’s scientific research strengths to broaden the application of optic inspection technology in collecting physical evidence at a crime scene. Besides, both parties agreed to carry out comprehensive cooperation in laboratory construction, talents training and academic research.

The laboratory of SPSB has been appointed by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) to be the Cultivation Base of State Key Laboratory built together by MOST and Shanghai Province in February 2010, becoming the first state key laboratory of its kind in national public security system.

Shanghai deputy mayor ZHANG Xuebing and GUO Ying, party committee secretary of SITP were present at the signing ceremony.
