KUANG Dingbo
(1930.09.01—) Chinese Academy of Sciences:Academician
Main Work and Achievements :
KUANG Dingbo, an expert in infrared and remote sensing, male, born in Sept 1930, native of Jiangsu. Graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, majoring in physics in 1952. Professor ofthe Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).He was elected an academician of CAS in 1991. He tried a systematic exploration in the fields of infrared application and remote sensing. Under his leadership, the advanced equipment such as the aerial infrared scanning camera, the infrared horizon sensor for satellite attitude measurement, the infrared capture and tracking system for missiletrajectory measurement and etc. were successfully developed. He was responsible for designing and developing the very high resolution scanning radiometer for FY-1, one of the first generation meteorological satellites of China.Since 1970’s, he has laid a solid basis for the institute toinitiate the application of infrared and multispectral technologies inaerial remote sensing in China and develop series of airborne infrared and multispectral remote sensors with advanced level of the world. Now, hehas paid his attention to the new demands and development of remote sensing in the environment monitoring applications in our country. | |
