Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SITP, CAS) received its first US patent with a newly-developed technology, namely, the integrated narrow bandpass filter array and a method for fabrication thereof on Dec. 17, 2010. (Application Number: 11/924640)
It was the first time that STIP had applied for an international patent. The patented technology presents a new structure of a micro light splitting device which serves as a substitute for traditional optical spectrum instrument. With the advantages of small size, high reliability and stability, the micro light splitting device has a wide application prospect in space remote sensing and deep space probing.
The new technology has drawn wide attention from the international world, which not only promotes international cooperation of SITP, but also provides a chance for SITP to build its international reputation.
